Jordan Hobson led the way with a double hat-trick as East Bowling Allstars under-13s beat Heckmondwike 10-2 in the Huddersfield League.
Those goals took Hobson’s tally to an amazing 35 in just six games, while also on the scoresheet were Jake Gibson (3) and Luke Leedham.
Allstars defenders Liam Carroll, Nathan Armstrong, Bradley Oliver and Ebony Benjimin Hall laid a solid platform for this latest victory.
East Bowling’s under-14s put in one of their best performances of the season to beat Clifton Rangers 4-0.
David Moynihan and Dario Di Francesco made it 2-0 and although Clifton then piled on the pressure, they were thwarted by excellent defending from Rowan Newman, Adam Akalach and Shaun Syms.
Moynihan’s second goal relieved the pressure, before Di Francesco added a contender for goal of the season with a free-kick from inside the Clifton half.
The half-term holiday saw a reduced number of games taking place but Wibsey Lions under-14s were glad they played as they beat Batley 10-1.
Connor Rhodes netted four of his numerous chances, with Nathan Khan and man of the match Josh Thompson adding two apiece. A Michael Brooksbank cracker and an own goal completed the tally.
Tai Pedder patrolled his area well, with Jake Gilderdale, Scott Morris, Davis Peel and Brooksbank soaking up the odd Batley attack comfortably.
Damien Hields, Callum Docherty and Mudiwa Tegama also had good games.
Wyke Wanderers under-11s were in scintillating form as they won 3-1 at Kirkburton.
Dylan Silson nipped in to open the scoring after a short backpass by the hosts.
Kirkburton equalised after a scramble from a corner but man of the match Nathan Younghusband restored Wyke’s lead and Ben Sutcliffe then put Attah Rehman through to kill off the contest.
Wanderers’ under-eights were missing three regular players and the absentees were missed in a 4-1 defeat to Brighouse.
Reece Clay scored for Wyke but they could not muster enough to get anything out of the game, despite the best efforts of man of the match Kieran Mcgurie.
Wanderers’ B Team, also facing Brighouse, fared better to win 2-1 with goals from Ellis Farrar and Reuben Suttcliffe.
Farrar, playing in goal in the second half, kept his cool when Brighouse were awarded a penalty but failed to hit the target.
