Nab Wood are thanking their strength in depth after clinching a dramatic Craven, Aire & Wharfe League Under-14 D Division victory at Westwood Dolphins.

The visitors were lucky to be leading 2-0 at half-time via Jack Partington and man of the match Oli Dunn.

But Westwood took a deserved second-half lead with three well-taken goals.

However, substitutes Charlie Hague and Nikhil Vekaria were having none of it and restored Nab Wood’s lead. But they had to survive a nail-biting final five minutes to cling on to their 4-3 victory, Joshua Drew – another substitute – making a dramatic penalty save.

Bradford Tigers kept their first clean sheet of the season in climbing to third in Division C.

Given a tremendous start with a crunching drive by Tom Oman after ten seconds, they went on to defeat visitors Sutton 5-0.

Other goals came from man of the match Gage Faulkner, substitute Sam Bradley, a rare Lucas Davey headed goal and an own goal.

Tigers under-15s drew 4-4 at Bingley Juniors after leading 4-0 early in the second half with goals from Wayne Sparkes – following a good through ball from Harry Hall – Bradley Thomas, Joe Stewart and Hall.

However, with the pitch deteriorating quickly as it became gluey, Bingley’s No 8 scored four times to earn a draw.

But Tigers, who should have played the ball wide to get away from the mud, could have won it at the death, Sparkes shooting wide from a Saif Ahmed pass. Eden Phillip won Tigers’ match point, Jamie Clegg getting the managers’ man of the match point.

Under-13 Division D leaders Prospect Juniors ran out 6-2 winners in a hard-fought battle at Silsden, whose keeper was in inspirational form.

Busy midfielder Nathan Speight (2), Johnny Durkan (2), Brandon Gaughan and Jordon Farrell were on target for Prospect, for whom centre back Brad Tomlinson was solid.

Bradford Park Avenue have edged closer to becoming Craven, Aire & Wharfe League Under-12 Division D champions.

Hat-tricks from Josh Mc-Kiernon, man of the match Jack Mongan and Billy Raistrick put them on the way to an 11-3 victory at Eldwick. Other goals came from Jake Wilkinson and an own goal.

Albion Sports trailed Shipley Lions 3-0 but turned it around to win 7-5 in Under-13 Division A.

Nadeem Khan and Krish-an Patel kept Albion in touch at 3-1 and 5-2 down but quick goals from Khan (2) and Zain Mushtaq levelled matters, and Sanjay Chuda-sama and Patel scored later on.

Bradford Park Avenue under-12s outclassed C Division leaders Shipley Tigers, winning 6-0. Hat-tricks came from man of the match Macaulay Bayliss, who played with real purpose and took his goals with great poise, and striker Nayan Mistry.

Avenue’s goalkeeper Connor Briscoe, who had little to do all game, delivered when he was called upon.

Horsforth St Margarets under-eights Colts produced one of their best performances of the season to beat Pudsey Spartans 6-0 in the Keybury League Blue Division.

Some impressive passing in midfield and clinical finishing from striker Sam Ryan saw Horsforth take a 2-0 lead into the break.

Ryan completed his hat-trick early in the second half and further goals from Harry Widdup (2) and William Holmes put the seal on a terrific display against a well-drilled Pudsey outfit.

Seven-man Bradford Park Avenue A Scorpions went down 3-0 at home to Thackley, Avenue keeper Thomas Marshall starring.

Albion’s under-tens beat visitors Nab Wood 6-2, having gone 2-0 down inside ten minutes.

Junaid Holden and man of the match Raheem Mohammed had Albion level by half-time, Mohammed completing his hat-trick in the second half and Ibrahim Hussain notching a brace.

Avenue’s under-ten Hawks continued their pursuit of the Green Division title with a 4-0 win at Keighley Shamrocks B.

Jack Halmshaw (2), Liam Brook – with a good left- footer – and Levi Bowers, from a thunderous strike, were on the mark.

Bradford Park Avenue under-nines Lizards’ unbeaten run, stretching back to March, was ended by visitors Thackley, who won 3-2, Kaylum Johnson and Haseeb Alam netting for Ave-nue.

Wyke Wanderers under-tens B remain top of their Huddersfield RCD League division after a 5-3 win at Thornhill.

Man of the match Reece Gardner set up two of Patrick McGrath’s four goals, Edward Tordoff also net-ting.

Wyke’s A team won 5-1 at the same venue, goals coming from Attur Rehman (2), Sam Wainman (2) and Nathan Younghusband.

Wanderers’ under-nine B team defeated Rastrick C 6-4, with goals from Cameron Balmforth (2), Thomas Capstick, Nathan Aylott, Matthew Brumfitt and Owen Khan.

Albion Sports’ under-14 A team notched a double when they defeated Colton 7-0 in the Garforth League.

Qasim Ali scored a thunderous hat-trick to get Albion going, Brendan Khulani adding the fourth. An own goal and a rare strike by defender Joseph Rhodes completed the rout.
