Georgia Tate was the heroine as Idle Juniors reached the West Riding County FA’s Under-14s Girls’ Cup final.

She scored their last penalty and then saved Batley Blaze’s reply as Idle won the shoot-out 8-7 after the sides had drawn 2-2 after extra time.

Goal-scorers for Idle in open play were Amelia Andre, with a 25-yard left-foot screamer, and Sophie Dickinson, with a 20-yard right-foot lob.

Idle will now face Silsden in the final at West Riding County FA headquarters at Fleet Lane, Woodlesford on Sunday (10.30am).

In the West Riding Girls’ League Cup semi-final, Idle, who finished the match with ten players due to injuries, went down 4-0 to Durham side Cestria Galaxy, who have won the league without losing a game.

However, Idle, who are currently third, could still finish second if they win their games in hand.

Bingley kept their two-year unbeaten home record with a win in the semi-final of the West Riding County FA’s Under-13 Girls’ Cup.

Tap-in goals in each half by Lauren Hebden gave Bingley a 2-0 margin over Crossley in the semi-final on a muddy pitch that cut up badly.

Bingley now face Leeds Vixens in the final on Saturday, May 15 at Ilkley Town AFC.

Nab Wood finally scored from a corner before Wilsden got the goal of the game, a six-man move starting from a tackle by Joseph Jagger, Max Nunwick providing a crossfield pass and Pip Greetham the through ball for Zenti to complete his hat-trick.

Striker Freddie Fitton, sweeper Sam Griggs and keeper Thomas Brady also shone for the visitors.

Steeton moved into second place after a comfortable 4-1 victory over Westwood Jets at Summerhill Lane.

Rob Golson pounced in the box to stab home the first after Euan Sessford had had an earlier effort ruled out for offside.

Sessford then doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time to put Steeton well in comand.

Westwood reduced the arrears, but this spurred Steeton and Sessford curled in a third for the Junior Chevrons.

With the clock running down, Stee-ton produced a fine move, Harry Muir crossing from the left and Danny Skelton heading home to secure the points.

Steeton wrap up their league campaign at Wilsden this weekend.

Division B basement club Bradford Tigers conceded ten for the second time this season to Sandy Lane, this time without scoring.

But they could have been 2-1 ahead, Luke Duckett hitting the inside of the post with a long-range free-kick, and Joe Gartland heading just over from a peach of a cross by Lucas Clayden.

Central defender Daniel Marshall won the man of the match award for a solid display, while goalkeeper Jake Hewitson was also an award winner, making an outstanding one-handed reaction save.

After some disappointing results, Long Lee Vipers returned to winning ways with a good 3-1 victory over Thackley.

Niall Bonner had his best game for the hosts, playing well alongside Luke Craven, Lewis Robinson and Jake Kidney.

Sleepy Long Lee under-14s trailed 3-0 at Stanningley Albion – a side that wanted to catch them in the table and they only woke up when seamless passing allowed Sammy Murphy to score.

This helped Long Lee remember that they had only lost one game all season, and Ciaran Moulds pulled another one back within minutes, Ollie Pilkington then hitting the leveller. It was one-way traffic by now, and man of the match Moulds got the winner.

Long Lee went back to the top of the Under-11 A Division more by determination than fluency with a 2-1 victory at Guiseley, who took the lead.

Joseph Haddini and Cameron Raistrick scored for the winners.

Albion Sports under-12s took the lead in their derby against visitors Farsley Celtic when man of the match Zain Mushtaq scored from close range after a one-two with Akash Farooq.

Upfront, Albion were unstoppable with Raheem Mohammed (4) and Junaid Holden (2) among the goals. Captain James Howson also helped himself to a brace.

Albion went down 4-3 at Otley Town, having taken the lead inside two minutes through Junaid Holden.

This was an excellent contest but Otley were more clinical in the final third and scored twice either side of half-time to take a 4-1 lead. Albion, to their credit, never gave up and were rewarded with further goals from Holden and Raheem Mohammed to set up a tense finish but ultimately they ran out of time.

Albion’s man of the match was Howson, who once again was outstanding in the midfield.

Wyke Wanderers under-eights paid a heavy price for not taking their chances in a 5-0 defeat at well-drilled Gomersal and Cleckheaton in the Huddersfield RCD League.

However, four of the goals came late on to give the final scoreline a misleading look. Wyke’s man of the match Connor Barran was great in goal before playing out to defend well and make some good breaks.

Wanderers’ B team gave a gutsy display in a 5-1 defeat at Gomersal & Cleckheaton C.

Wyke’s man of the match Jarad Muff was focused and performed creditably, while Bailey Evans made some good saves and fierce tackles.

Haris Khan was irresistible, hitting five, man of the match Yacoob Ahmed scored a brace, including a sensational left-foot volley into the top corner, and an own goal completed the scoring.
