Illness and breakaway goals contibuted to Bradford United Scorpions under-eights’ 6-3 defeat at Pudsey A in the Keybury League.

United started well, only to go 2-0 down, but got back in the game with a great solo run from Daniel Webster.

He burst into the box and wrong-footed the keeper before finishing cooly in the bottom corner.

Oliver Holcroft put United level in the second half but they were hit on the break for two goals.

Holcroft headed in at the far post to put United back in the game after a great cross from Jack Brimacombe but they were caught short at the back again for Pudsey to score twice more.

Nevertheless, this was a good effort from United, who lost Frankie Brimacombe to illness after five minutes and had to play with no subs.

Bradford United Lizards defeated Pudsey B 9-0, and showed their intent with shots from Alex Gibson, Matthew Ham and Jack Wright in the first four minutes. Ham and Jacob Dunn had efforts cleared off the line and Wright shot just wide.

However, Lewis Moorhouse opened the scoring in the 11th minute, followed by Wright in the 15th and Stefan Giangregorio in the 16th.

Just before half-time, Wright got his second but Pudsey never gave up, Ham having two cleared off the line in the second half, while Pudsey’s keeper denied Dunn, Haseeb Alam and Kaylum Johnson.

Then United’s captain Vincent Hen-derson broke through to score the fifth, and was quickly followed by Moorhouse, Giangregorio and Gibson, an own goal completing the tally. Pudsey missed a last-minute penalty.

Scholemoor Scorpions Under-11s kept up their unbeaten run with a 10-3 win at Myrtle Park.

Goals came from man of the match Joe Anderson (4), Phemelo Ncube (3), Josh Collins (2) and an own goal.

Westwood Juniors Under-Eights suffered their first defeat of the season, great defending keeping Westwood’s goal tally down in a 3-2 defeat against Wilsden, who scored a last-minute winner, Max McGuire and Ethan Allen replying.

Weston Lane Under-Nines held Albion Sports to a 1-1 draw but the latter missed a host of chances.

Their man of the match Tyreece Bleau was outstanding at the heart of defence, while midfield trio Alfie Moulden, James Howson and Aaron Morris worked their socks off.

Raaj Sandhu and Junaid Holden led the line for Albion, and it was Sandhu who laid the ball off to give Hol-den an easy tap-in for Albion’s goal.

Albion Sports’ Under-Tens kept up their good form with a 6-1 victory at Eldwick, who put Albion under pressure for the first five minutes but good defending from Neel Herar and Andre Tavernier made sure Lewis Hawkes was untroubled in goal.

Man of match Wayne Taylor poked home his first goal, and from then on it was one-way traffic with Taylor getting his second and Mohamed Hussain also netting before half-time after great work from new addition Bilal Tofu.

Taylor completed his hat-trick in the second half, and clinical finishing from Hussain and Usman Pandor made it six. Eldwick deserved their consolation with a fine header.

Horsforth St Margarets Under-Sevens Colts continued their 100 per cent record with an 11-2 victory over Sandy Lane at Heaton.

Sam Ryan scored four goals and there were braces for Jason Richardson and Harry Widdop, with a powerful finish from William Holmes and two own goals completing the scoring.
