Farsley Celtic Under-10s Blue came from a goal down to claim a hard-fought point in a 1-1 draw at Colton Juniors A.
The early exchanges were well contested and Farsley were unlucky to go a goal down after the home side took advantage of some generous defending to take a sixth-minute lead.
A goal up, Colton started applying pressure and had some gilt-edged opportunities denied by Farsley’s in-form keeper and man of the match, Rhys Barrett.
But, in the second half, it was Farsley who looked the more likely to score, with midfielders Euan Middleton, Dane Casserley, Chris Windle and Jake Flynn linking well.
Sure enough, eight minutes into the half, they drew level with a superb 25-yard shot from Windle.
Farsley Celtic Under-10s Yellow also drew 1-1 at Colton Juniors B.
Captain Luke Heath hit a 31st-minute equaliser to cancel out an early goal by Colton in conditions that put both sides to the test.
However, it was keeper Jack Belfield who was man of the match.
Farsley struggled to make an impression in the first half, Eddie Gander having their best chance when he failed to convert a one-on-one with the keeper.
Jacob Kellett, Reece Wood and Spencer Taylor defended tirelessly against the Colton attack but it was Belfield’s heroics that made sure that Farsley went in at half-time only 1-0 down.
Farsley raised the tempo in the second half and were rewarded with the equaliser.
