BRADFORD & DISTRICT KEYBURY LEAGUE teams seem to have the whip hand over their Calderdale League opponents when it comes to their end-of-season 'Champions League' clashes.
In Under-11 Group B, for example, Dudley Hill Rangers won their final group game 7-1 at Todmorden Wasps, with Karlson Ogie (4), Mckenzie Jeffreys (penalty), Rhys Hadley and a fine long-range effort from Harry Norton doing the damage.
Rangers have finished second behind Ilkley, who put King Cross Greens to the sword 7-2.
In Group A, Albion Sports beat AFC Halifax 2-1 and Sutton overcome Todmorden Tigers 4-3. The Bradford quartet will now square off in the semi-finals on Sunday, April 19.
Rangers under-tens won 3-1 at Crossley Swifts, bucking the trend between the clubs in various age groups so far, while at least Oliver Wilson and Charlie Gadsby were happy for Rangers under-sevens in their 5-2 defeat at home to Todmorden.
Wilson netted his first goal for the club, while Gadsby finished a long run by smashing the ball high into the net for a goal-of-the-season contender.
Albion Sports under-eights dominated their inter-league clash from start to finish, passing visitors Hebden Bridge off the pitch in an 11-1 victory.
With Bobby Joe Metcalfe and Muhammad Murtaza solid at the back, the goals flowed at the other end for man-of-the-match and skipper Muhammad Mustafa (4) – taking his seasonal tally to 65 – Aarian Sarai (4), Shubham Rana (2) and Ranveer Singh, the latter from a stunning lob. Mustafa also had four assists.
Bradford Park Avenue climbed to third in HUDDERSFIELD RCD JUNIOR LEAGUE Under-12 Division Two on the back of a fine 1-0 win at Northowram, one of the two teams they jumped over.
Avenue could not capitalise on playing downhill first but got the breakthrough in the second half via Ellis Joseph, with Louis Randle their man of the match.
In Division 5B, second-placed Gomersal & Cleckheaton C won 8-0 at Avenue B after scoring six goals in ten second-half minutes.
Bradford United maintained their bid for second place in CRAVEN, AIRE & WHARFE League Under-16 Division C with a 7-2 victory at Menston Rovers.
Man of the match Billy Enoch bagged a hat-trick, the other goals coming from Manny Asiedu – his first of the season – captain Nathan Armstrong, Isaac Khan and James Frazer.
Meanwhile, Laszlo Szennyai (2), Jake Illingworth and Sean Dowse were among those on target for fifth-placed Keighley Shamrocks in their 5-1 triumph at Menston Rangers in Under-14 Division B.
It was a sign of things to come when Bolton Woods Sabres took only 52 seconds to score at home to Bradford United Scorpions in Under-13 Division B, with the visitors ending up being stung 7-0.
A powerful shot by Mckenzie Lister was only palmed out by Scorpions keeper Jack Fairlie into the path of Alex Gibson, who slotted home from close range.
Thomas Cokeright dazzled the visitors' defence five minutes later, beating the keeper at the near post for 2-0, while Lewis Melvin chipped one in from the edge of the box on 14 minutes. Cokeright outpaced the Scorpions back line again on 25 minutes, scoring from the tightest of angles.
Sabres, pushing for a top-three finish, rang the changes at half-time but it made little difference against their second-bottom opponents, Gibson soon rounding the keeper to score his second.
Fairlie made a string of fine saves to deny Matthew Ham, Lewis Moorhouse and Ben O'Shea before Lister split the defence on the hour, driving home a powerful shot from just outside the area.
Brandon Borza finished the scoring after a Kaylum Johnson header found him free in the six-yard box.
Bradford United Raptors were denied by Westwood Dolphins' keeper time and again in their Under-12 Division B clash and trailed 3-0 at half-time.
That was still the score with less than 15 minutes left but Billy-Lee Firth (2) and Louis Price – with a superb curling free-kick – salvaged a 3-3 draw, prompting the Raptors' parents to burst out in song, much to the surprise of players and coaches alike.
Menston Rangers under-14s started off strongly against Keighley Shamrocks but a loss of concentration midway through the first half was to prove costly as they conceded three quickfire goals and were subsequently beaten 5-1.
With midfielders Harry Brook and Jack Strother taking the game to Keighley, the home side looked solid until a long ball caught the Menston defence napping and left them 1-0 down.
Disaster then struck when, after a superb goal-line clearance from captain Joe Strother, the ball ricocheted off a Menston defender and into the roof of the net.
Despite being 4-0 down at the break Menston came out in determined mood and were rewarded when Tom Turnbull's sweet strike found the back of the net.
Menston battled until the final whistle but Keighley proved just too strong in the end.
