Idle Juniors under-15s completed a memorable unbeaten season by adding the cup to their West Riding Girls League title.

They were up against Normanton Athletic in the final and emerged 9-0 winners to lift their second trophy.

Idle were 4-0 up at half-time thanks to goals by Kathryn Moon, Aqsa Mushtaq, Keegan Lambert and Georgia Southwell and showed no signs of letting up after the interval.

Normanton did threaten to gain some consolation but Idle’s defence held firm and further goals followed from Katie Webster, Lambert, Mushtaq and Moon, who added two to complete her hat-trick.

The cup success followed a league campaign in which Idle had finished a massive 15 points clear of their nearest rivals, while their goal difference was an equally impressive plus 81.

Oakworth Juniors under-15s added the cup to their Craven, Aire & Wharfe League title as they edged out Thackley 3-2 after extra time.

Ben Weatherall gave Oakworth an early lead but Thackley stormed back to lead 2-1.

Past Oakworth teams may have thrown in the towel at this point but the current players dug deep to force extra time and then notched the decisive third goal in the last minute.

This enabled them to become only the second team from the club to complete a league and cup double.

Fairbank United under-12s had to settle for runners-up spot in their Craven League section but are targeting the title next season.

It proved a memorable campaign for Hishaam Iqbal, who finished as the league’s top scorer with 47 goals from 20 games and picked up seven man of the match awards.

He was also the leading marksman last season and has been selected by Manchester City to attend their academy.
