Third-placed Bradford & Bingley are aiming to end the first half of their National League Three North campaign on a high on Saturday at Penrith.

“We looked at a dvd of our previous match against Pen-rith this season (Penrith won 50-15) on Tuesday night, and we are a quantum leap in rugby terms away from that,” said the Bees’ director of rugby Martin Whitcombe, who has overseen six victories in his seven games in charge.

Bradford & Bingley give a debut to hooker James Brown and bring former Wharfedale stalwart Dave Muckalt into the second row as both James Whitfield and Brett Mitchell have knocks.

Mitchell is on the bench, but Whitcombe said: “We don’t want to take any unnecessary risks at this stage.”
