Bradford & Bingley 31 Dinnington 41

ABOUT the only positive for Bradford & Bingley, who have been relegated for a second successive season and are lower down the pyramid than they have ever been, is that they will have a lot of derbies next season in Yorkshire Division One.

In the seventh tier – the Bees were in the third tier as recently as 2006-07 – the men from Wagon Lane will face Bradford Salem, Yarnbury, West Park Leeds, Old Brodlieans, Heath, Old Crossleyans and North Ribblesdale in 2015-16 in what is a very competitive division.

"The lads were very down afterwards – Ryan Wederall and Brett Mitchell were in tears after the match on Saturday," confessed Bradford & Bingley's first-team manager Benji Pickin.

"There are some Bees haters out there who are enjoying themselves on social media at the moment."

He added: "Dinnington had a mixture of youth and experience – they had former Premiership players Simon Bunting and John Dudley in their line-up – and we scored tries by Adam Wellington (third minute), Richard Tafa (27), Chris Fisher (38), Ian Judson (41) and Richard Scull (51), with Richard adding three conversions, but we paid a heavy price missing some kicks to touch.

"We could have nicked a victory but other results didn't go our way anyway, with Northern drawing 27-27 at Alnwick and Driffield winning 35-13 at Horden."

Pickin added: "As far as I am aware the coaching set-up is staying the same and I hope we can keep the squad together for next season, although we might lose Adam Wellington to Firwood Waterloo depending on his grades as he might be going to university in Liverpool, while we don't know what is happening with Tom Bills, who is on loan from Huddersfield.

"Two successive relegations is not a good situation at all, and now we need everybody at the club to come together as we try and rebuild."
