AFTER defeating Alnwick 31-24 at Wagon Lane last Saturday, Bradford & Bingley are not looking to other teams to aid them in their SSE North One East survival bid.
The Bees currently occupy the highest of the three relegation berths but there is a belief that they can get out of this mess by their own efforts.
"In flashes, we played some of our best rugby of the season last weekend," said rugby secretary Nick Patterson, "and, although there were one or two things that we did wrong, we put the game to bed fairly tidily.
"When we went down to 13 men, I thought there was on outside chance that we might have our third draw of the campaign but Alnwick didn't really threaten to score another seven points."
Stuart Dixon's men are at seventh-placed Wheatley Hills tomorrow and, as Patterson says, the Bees haven't had a good away record for three seasons, but he added: "There is a growing confidence among the lads that we can win two of the last three matches and get bonus points in all three and stay up."
Back for the visitors on Saturday come No 8 Greg Whateley and Dixon in the centres, with the latter replacing Harry Hall, who has somehow got a varicose vein on a testicle.
Skipper Brett Mitchell reverts from the back row to the second row to the exclusion of Richard Hughes, with Dan Cookson switching to flanker.
Fly half Shaun Driver plays his last game at fly half before returning to New Zealand but has enjoyed himself so much at Wagon Lane that he wants to come back next season – regardless of what division they are in.
