European eyes will be locked on Wagon Lane when the Bumble Bees Barbarians take on old foes Llanelli Warriors on Sunday, March 9 (11am).
At stake in the fourth meeting of what is sure to be a competitive full-contact mixed ability match will be the H Bomb Trophy, which is currently held by the Warriors, who triumphed on home soil last year.
Watching on the Wagon Lane touchline will be local dignitaries and representatives of European rugby’s governing bodies, as well as observers from Ireland, Scotland, France and Italy, who are looking to roll out the mixed ability model in their own countries.
The Bumbles’ international co-ordinator Martino Corazza has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep European representatives in the loop in preparation for the first ever European tournament in 2015, hopefully based at Wagon Lane.
Entry to the H Bomb Trophy match is free, food and drink will be available from the bars and the match will be a curtain-raiser to that ‘other’ England v Wales match, which will be shown later on the big screen.
