Bradford Salem travel to Ripon tomorrow aiming to build on last weekend’s thumping win at Yorkshire Two basement side Baildon.

Salem won 62-8 at Jenny Lane, outscoring their hosts by ten tries to one to underline their promotion credentials.

John Bradbury is set to return in the front row and Sam Leach will come back into the second row.

Salem will chose between Andy Robinson and Sam Riley to deputise for scrum half Jack Mitchell, who is unavailable, while former Great Britain Asian rugby league international Omar Al-Rawi will get his first start on the wing in place of the injured Carl Walker.

Salem first-team manager Neil Klenk has warned against complacency ahead of the trip to North York-shire. He said: “Ripon are second from bottom and we’re second from top, so on current form you would expect us to win, but historically Ripon have been a bogey side to us.

“We have lost there with virtually the last kick of the game, so it’s a potential banana skin.

“We were pleased with the margin of victory at Baildon and are hoping to build on that this weekend.”

Baildon, who are still looking for their first win of the season, travel to fourth-from-bottom Knottingley.

Bradford & Bingley bid to kickstart their campaign with a trip to local rivals Huddersfield in National Three.

The Bees slipped to the bottom of the table after a 52-20 defeat at Sale last weekend but director of rugby Henry Paul insisted his side was improving in all areas.

Leaders Cleckheaton claimed an impressive 29-12 victory at Morpeth last weekend, filling them with confidence ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with Middles-brough in North One East.

They will be boosted by the return of prop Paul Turner and fly half Michael Piper.

Fixtures secretary Alan Bentley said: “Paul and Michael were unavailable last weekend due to attending the Rugby League World Cup final at Old Trafford.”

Rookie forward Jack Sed-don, 18, will be unavailable through suspension after being sent off in a Colts match. Seddon is rated highly and plays as first-team wicketkeeper for Pudsey Congs in the Bradford League.

Bentley added: “The Mor-peth game, in the past, could have been a real stumbling block. But we dealt it with very professionally and we’re very confident now going into this weekend’s match.

“We’re aiming for another bonus-point win against Middlesbrough.”

Keighley travel to Wath-Upon-Dearne as they bid to bounce back from their slender Yorkshire One home defeat to Doncaster, while Old Grovians host Old Modernians in Yorkshire Three.
