Keighley 53 Acklam 26
This was an emphatic win for Keighley as they continued to show an improvement in form.
They went ahead when a driving maul after a lineout led to a try in the corner for hooker Will Armitage.
A long pass from Danny McGee gave flying winger Luke Carter a long run into the corner and Carter went over again for Ben Black-well to convert.
With a 17-point lead in as many minutes, Keighley played open rugby in their own 22 but were punished by two penalties from Danny Ashton.
Keighley got back to basics and a fine break by No 8 Stuart Inman was rewarded with a try for Alex Brown.
Acklam started the second half well with a further penalty from Ashton but the hosts responded with a try for winger Adam Horsfall, Blackwell converting.
Sam Walker added to Keighley’s tally when he chased a kick to score in the corner. Once again, Keighley opened their game up and were punished with a well-taken try for winger Ben Forbes.
McGee restored the advantage when he raced the length of the field to score after a loose pass before some direct play from Marco Ferrezzano gave Carter his third try.
Acklam’s Josh Milnes punished a handling error to score, closely followed by a second try from Forbes, but Keighley finished strongly with a break from scrum half Ian Woodwiss and a try for Blackwell.
