Twickenham Experience was founded 13 years ago as the only official provider of match-day hospitality and conference and banqueting facilities within the grounds of England rugby’s headquarters.

But Baildon are hoping that their own Twickenham experience will prove equally invigorating on Saturday.

The Jenny Laners return to TW2 7BA for the RFU Junior Vase final against Gloucestershire Division One champions Newent just a year after defeating Harrow 6-3 in a decider that was much more entertaining than the scoreline suggests.

“Four or five of the squad didn’t play last year,” admits Baildon’s director of rugby Andy Whitley, “but we would like to think that what we learnt last year will give us a slight edge.

“We have also managed to stay in the same hotel and even managed to get the same changing room at Twickenham.”

Newent breezed to their league title by winning all 22 games, amassing 863 points for and only 124 against, as well as 105 league points, and they have also won four rounds of the Vase.

Whitley added: “We don’t know masses about them but we do know they are strong up front with some experienced heads.

“However, another thing that might give us a slight advantage is that we reckon we play at a better level in a bigger league.”

Baildon, who have been promoted as runners-up in Yorkshire Division Three, still have their 26th and last league match to play against Northallerton a week on Saturday, although it is understood that the visitors are reluctant to travel.

Victory at Twickenham would provide the perfect end to Dave Duxbury’s two-year reign as head coach with Baildon.

Whitley said: “It is basically the same group of players that only just stayed up before Dave arrived but he has brought organisation and professionalism.”

As previously announced, Baildon will be without Kiwi Shawn Stewart tomorrow because of a knee injury.

They will take a squad of 24 that includes two travelling reserves.

Baildon: A Hewitt, D Tabiner, P Lowth, A Pollard, J Fox, T Craven, J Picken, A Beaumont, J Dawson, N Lister, R Kingham, M Dracup, E Morgan, H Lister, J Duxbury. Replacements: A Crooks, G Price, C Woodhall, P Wilson, J Miller, J Huss, J J O’Connell. Travelling reserves: A Magee, D Pollard.

Prop Jason Moss has been rewarded for a consistent season in Bradford & Bingley’s pack by being named in the Yorkshire squad for Saturday's Bill Beaumont Cup (County Championship) tie against Cheshire at Wagon Lane (3pm).

A try in the closing seconds by full back Ben Hatton, which was converted by Kristian Keinhorst, gave Old Otliensians a 30-24 victory over Ilkley A in the Spray Plant UK (Ltd) Aire-Wharfe Cup final.
