York RI 0 Baildon 77 Kiwi centre Jarrod Huss amassed 37 points in his side's ten-try demolition of York RI, which produced Baildon's biggest league victory in recent seasons at New Lane on Saturday.

An outstanding team performance which owed much to the fitness and teamwork ethic instilled into the players by head coach Dave Duxbury gave an early indication of the Jenny Laners' ambitions this season.

Having trained non-stop throughout the summer and having had their handling skills honed by competing in several sevens tournaments, the Jenny Laners looked sharp from the kick off and opened the scoring with a Huss penalty after just 90 seconds.

First-half tries, all improved by Huss from full-back JJ O'Connell, centre Johnny Picken and stand-off Nicky Lister (2), secured the bonus point and gave the visitors an unassailable 37-point lead, leaving the game effectively over as a contest by the break.

Six further second-half tries from right-wing Hayden Lister, Johnny Picken, Huss (2), replacement stand-off Jake Duxbury and O'Connell completed the rout.

With Huss improving five of the six second-half touchdowns, Baildon find themselves early leaders of their division but know they have tougher tests ahead, starting with the visit of second-placed Thornensians, who travel to Jenny Lane next Saturday.
