Cleckheaton host bottom side Team Northumbria in North One East on Saturday, aiming to end the year on a high.

Two of their last three games of 2011 are against the bottom two teams and fixtures secretary Alan Bentley is hoping December will be a fruitful month.

He said: “We need to win our next three games to go into the new year with a lot of confidence and we’d like to get maximum points from those games.”

Cleck enjoyed victory on the road last time out, with a 26-19 success at Middlesbrough, which saw one player make his bow for the season.

Bentley said: “Jonno Marshall had his first game of the season at Middlesbrough after being out all season, while Dave Freeman recently returned from serving with the RAF in Afghanistan.”

Bradford Salem travel to neighbours Skipton aiming to extend their seven-game unbeaten run in Yorkshire Two.

After losing 15-3 at Yarnbury in the Shield last week, manager Neil Klenk has warned it won’t be easy at the fourth-from-bottom Craven side.

He said: “They’ve knocked out two Yorkshire Division One sides in the Shield, so we can’t afford to take them lightly.

“We had a slow start but we set a target of being in the top four at Christmas and we’re on course to achieve that.”

Don Ram, Matt Steel and Dave Hutton all come in for Salem, while Simon Davies returns as skipper.

Wibsey host Rotherham Clifton looking to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat in Yorkshire Five.

Their poor form has left them second from bottom in the table, while their 64-5 loss at Marist last time out was their heaviest of the season so far.
