Baildon 20, Halifax 15 Baildon progressed into the third round of the Yorkshire Silver Trophy but were made to work hard against determined opponents from a division below.
After falling behind to a penalty on three minutes, the Jenny Laners hit back with a Nick Lister penalty on ten minutes.
Vice-captain Craig Woodhall crossed soon afterwards, Lister tagging on the extras, but the home side could not break free from their opponents and conceded a converted try just minutes later to put the scores level.
Baildon again hit back when Richard Kingham crossed on 29 minutes, only for Halifax to cross again to leave the hosts 17-15 up at the break.
A scrappy second half, in which Baildon tried to play a more expansive game but were thwarted by strong winds, produced just a solitary Lister penalty which bisected the posts to give the stand-off a ten-point haul. That sealed a third victory on the trot, which Baildon deserved on the balance of play.
