Cleckheaton 52 Orrell 28
Cleck ran in eight tries in a comfortable victory despite late withdrawals by Chris Quinn and Carl Mason forcing a reshuffle.
Oliver Akroyd opened the scoring with a penalty before scoring the first try in the corner after 18 minutes. From the kick-off, Cleck's John Bentley split the Orrell defence to send in Ryan Duckett for the first of his four tries, Akroyd converting to make it 15-0 on 20 minutes.
He clinched his hat-trick just after the half-hour with two more tries. An interception by forward Derek Salisbury saw him get within five metres of the line before the ball went cross-field for Chris Brand to score in the corner. He also converted to make the half-time score 27-7.
Cleck's forwards increased the lead after the interval with a pushover try from Johnson, Akroyd converting. Orrell had their first bit of pressure, but strong defending saw Billington break clear to score on 49 minutes.
Orrell sub Shaid Ramey and Danny Badham went in for tries, Brand converting both, in their best spell. But Cleck sub Craig Blackburn sent Duckett in for his fourth try from a scrum inside the hosts' half. The forwards and backs combined well to send Blackburn in for his first try for the first team to round things off.
