Cleckheaton 6, Percy Park 24 Park ran out deserved winners in a highly-competitive encounter to keep the pressure on leaders Billingham.
Cleckheaton were first on the scoreboard with an Iain Gordon penalty but the visitors soon replied with a penalty from centre Simon Greetham. The home side had their fair share of the game but it was Park who increased the intensity, running in two tries from winger Ali Blair and player coach James Ponton. Both were converted by Greetham. A further Gordon penalty reduced the arrears but Park were in control at the break. The second half contained some excellent rugby from both sides but Cleckheaton were making the greater number of errors. In the end, they were second best to a very competent Park outfit, for whom hooker Andrew Dunn added a try and Greetham converted.
