Wharfedale introduce winger James Druce into their starting line-up for the vital SSE National League One match at Stourbridge on Saturday (2.30), hoping that he will be able to succeed where others have failed – by kicking goals.
He has been scoring heavily this season for the Foresters, and last Saturday at Rosslyn Park, coming on as a late replacement, did succeed in converting the final try.
Injury causes two changes in the pack. Richard Brown takes over at No 8 for club captain Rob Baldwin, and Neil Dickinson starts in place of Mark Tampin.
Last season, Wharfedale did the double over Stourbridge, taking nine points in the process.
The Greens won 33-25 at The Avenue last September and 30-15 at Stourbridge in January – one of an impressive five away victories for the Dalesmen.
This season, bottom club Stourbridge have so far managed only one victory, but like many clubs in the lower half of the division, including Wharfedale, have come very close to beating good sides.
Wharfedale (at Stourbridge): D Hart, J Druce, J Gill, A Hodgson, S Jordan; L Gray, P Woodhead; T McGee, S Graham, N Dickinson, J Quinn, R Rhodes, A Myers, R Brown, D Solomi. Replacements: A Mason, B Sowrey, J Holland, W Bell, S Horsfall.
