Bramley Phoenix 5, Baildon 31
Baildon won this match SSE Yorkshire Division Three derby 27-5 yesterday but were wrongly credited with four extra points on the match card!
This fine derby victory marked a return to winning ways against a side who were unbeaten prior to The Jenny Laners' visit to The Warrels.
After a poor start to the season, Baildon captain James Dawson's decision to hold a players' meeting after training on Tuesday to discuss the lack of form paid dividends, and it was he who opened the scoring on ten minutes to bag his first try of the season.
A try from Hayden Lister on 22 minutes further stretched the visitors' lead but it was centre Andy Patchett's accuracy with the boot which gave Baildon the edge with a 14-point haul from four penalties and a conversion.
Young full back JJ O'Connell rounded off a great afternoon for Baildon with an audacious drop goal on 79 minutes.
