Keighley 54, Castleford 14 Keighley finished off their season in style with a resounding victory over Castleford.
Alex Brown’s penalty opened the scoring, closely followed by a try from second row Ian Buckley, which Brown converted.
With the Keighley forwards dominating, the constant pressure told and Brown added a further penalty before finishing off a slick back-line move with a try in the corner.
In the second half, Keighley ran riot as back-rower Dave Pullen – playing his last first-team game – unselfishly put second-rower Stuart Inman and back-rower Scott Dyson in for tries.
Castleford hit back as Chris Brown and Daniel Price crossed for converted scores.
But their hopes were dashed when they had a player sent off for repeated infringements.
Keighley’s veteran prop Paul Sinfield (pictured) – another player retiring from first-team rugby – crossed near the posts before Sam Walker and Scott Dyson both added late tries.
Brown capped a fine individual performance with both conversions.
