Blink and you might have missed Wharfedale’s first-team selection meeting this week.

“It only took a 30-second conversation,” said coach Tom McGee as the Greens named an unchanged side for the National League One trip to Stourbridge on Saturday.

On the back of their wholly convincing 27-10 home victory against Tynedale, who they hadn’t beaten in six previous league encounters, the machinations, or lack of them, of the selection committee should come as no surprise.

“It was probably a 70-minute performance,” admitted McGee. “We had domination of position and possession.

“We talked in the changing room beforehand about how we wanted to play and we defintely did that.

“It was funny coming on the back of the lay-off as you cannot tell which way that is going to affect you.

"But we played with a belief and a freshness, we didn’t let Tynedale breathe and we counter-rucked as well as we have all season.”

McGee added: “Steve Graham, Rob Baldwin and Chris Malherbe deserve a mention but it was a real team performance, even down to the lads who came on. We played with real intent and aggression.

“Replacement Tom Davidson kicked a 55-metre penalty, scored a try and added a conversion. He looked hungry but now we need to kick on, starting with our tricky trip to Stourbridge.
