Bradford Salem have more than one good reason for defeating Yorkshire Division One leaders Wheatley Hills at Shay Lane on Saturday.
For starters it would end a run of defeats that have caused Salem to drop from play-off contenders to mid-table mediocrity.
And secondly, and probably more importantly, the match is doubling up as a second-round Yorkshire Shield tie, and Salem are the holders.
Salem’s team selection is complicated because they can name three players on the bench for the league match and four on the bench for the Shield tie, the fourth replacement only being able to come on if the match goes to extra time.
Bradford Salem (probable) (home to Wheatley Hills): J Davies; C Savva, S McManus, C Bourne, K Whata; R Langhorn, I Woodwiss; C Buxton, S Fields, J Bradbury, J Morrell, B Scarbrough, J Booth, K Falwasser, S Thomas. Replacements: B Webb, D Wyness, S Cowman, J Luxton.
