Baildon 7, Bramley Phoenix 34
Baildon, hit by the late withdrawals of prop Pete Lowth and scrum half James Dawson, were hit by four late tries in this Yorkshire Division Three derby yesterday.
Adam Hewitt was therefore promoted from the bench to the front row, Phil Wilson coming into the squad, while Jack Aaron replaced Dawson.
Although under pressure for the opening 15 minutes, despite playing downhill, Baildon went into a 7-3 lead with a try by Hayden Lister after a break by Joe Moore, Alister Beaumont adding the conversion.
Baildon pressed for much of the rest of the half but couldn’t make it count.
Aaron played well at half-back after his 11th-hour call-up but the hosts were hit by a late flurry of Bramley points.
