Old Otliensians beat Baildon 27-7 in their Yorkshire Division Three derby.
They raced into a 10-0 lead with two well-finished tries in the opening minutes, Duggan taking an inside pass from Clewes to score from 20 metres out and Rushworth scoring the second. Former Baildon skipper Mark Coultas was unsuccessful with the conversion attempts.
In a 20-minute period, Ensians had five tries disallowed due to failed groundings, forward passes or dropped passes.
They did cross the whitewash again before half-time with scores from Holland and Arbuckle to lead 20-0.
The visitors started brightly in the second half and a quick penalty from Baildon’s own 22 resulted in a converted try by Beaumont.
Otliensians scored a late try to seal victory but it was a much-improved performance by Baildon following their loss at Old Modernians the previous week.
