England Deaf 18, Wales Deaf 25
Peter Altham, of Wharfedale, scored a try and had an assist in another for England Deaf but they still finished up losing 25-18 in their Broadstreet Cup clash against Wales in Coventry.
Altham, who had previously played for England Deaf against Estonia, punched a hole in the visitors’ defence to create a try for full back Guy Lavery (Barnes).
The versatile Greens front-rower, who had an outstanding game in the loose, then went over in the 76th minute after England shunted Wales off their own scrum ball.
