Otley captain Howard Parr says his team are not being sidetracked by the club’s financial problems.
The players will be paid until the end of the season but the Cross Green club recently announced that members have been asked to donate £200 each to tide the club over the summer.
Parr said: “As far as the players are concerned, and a lot of them are attached to Leeds, we are just concentrating on our individual performances.
“It is a double-edged sword that we have just had a free weekend.
“We had quite a lot of players with injuries and it has given them another week of recuperation but, on the other hand, there are a lot of games to go and we want to get the matches played.”
Otley are third from bottom in National League One with 32 points and on Saturday they host Cinderford, who are only one place and six points above them.
Parr isn’t pulling his punches about this home contest, saying: “It is a must-win game for us. We lost 26-3 at Cinderford in October but our preparation wasn’t ideal as a lot of our players had either trained or played the day before.
“But we hope to have second row Alex Ball back from Leeds this weekend. He is our main source of line-out ball.”
