Leeds Carnegie will make history on Saturday morning when they face Bucuresti Oaks in Rumania.
The Amlin Challenge Cup game at Arcul de Triumf will be the 2,000th European Rugby Cup match, with the 1,000th Amlin Challenge Cup match following on Saturday afternoon when Worcester Warriors meet Connacht.
Meanwhile, scans have confirmed that the knee injury sustained by Leeds’ Scott Barrow in last Friday’s loss to Harlequins in the Guinness Premiership is not as bad as first feared.
Barrow limped off in the 30-27 loss to Quins and initially it appeared as if he could face a lengthy lay-off.
However, scans have revealed “a grade two injury” and Barrow could return for the club’s next Premiership game.
