Keighley’s winning Yorkshire Division One run continued with a hard-earned 14-3 victory at York yesterday.
A penalty goal in the second minute by Alex Brown set them on their way before home fly half Ben Johnson equalised midway through the half with a similar effort.
In a generally dour encounter, Keighley went ahead again close to half-time with a sparkling try by full back Rob Wilkinson, who supported a strong run by wingman Sam Walker to touch down in the corner.
Two more penalty goals by Brown in the second half completed the scoring to underline Keighley’s sixth win in their last seven league games.
