Aireborough 10, Baildon 20
Baildon increased their chances of avoiding relegation from Yorkshire Division Three with a 20-10 win at Aireborough to leave their neighbours still in trouble.
The hosts were first on the scoresheet with a well-struck James Stocker penalty but Baildon answered back quickly when Danny Helstrip powered over from two metres, Nicky Lister converting.
A great passage of play by the visitors saw Lister score under the posts and he converted his own try to give his side a 14-3 half-time lead.
Lister struck a penalty after the break before Aireborough’s best player Nathan Smith was sin-binned in the 60th minute for an indiscretion at a line-out.
Once back to full strength, they started to take advantage of the tiring Baildon pack and broke through to score a converted try.
Baildon recovered and, after another Aireborough indiscretion, Lister kicked another penalty to give the Jenny Laners an unassailable lead.
