Rotherham No 8 Ryan Burrows, who only last week moved back to Clifton Lane from Cleckheaton, scored three tries as Yorkshire started their defence of the National Under-20 Championship with a 42-6 victory over Cumbria at Skipton.
Wharfedale centre Dan Hart bagged a brace and Morley lock Daniel Chamberlain also got on the scoresheet, with Wharfedale fly half Luke Gray landing five of the conversions and Sandal winger Alex Orr getting the other.
Lancashire, who Yorkshire visit on Sunday, February 10, went one better by crossing seven times in their 43-5 defeat of Durham at Preston Grasshoppers. Cheshire beat Northumberland 32-5 at Ashington.
