Baildon 3, Moortown 35
In September 2005, Moortown played Baildon at Jenny Lane and were winning 10-3 at half-time - an identical score and venue to the Yorkshire Division Three match on Saturday.
Another similarity was that Baildon were enjoying a resurgence after a bad run, and Saturday's game, with the return of some of the injured players, including Hugh Gumbs, Mark Coultas and Tom Craven, but without full back Nick Lister, winger Richard Kingham and a shortening list of non-available players.
Baildon took the lead as early as the second minute but, despite some good attacking play and a disallowed try by scrum half and man of the match James Dawson, they were unable to score against top-of-the-table Moortown.
Limited to a penalty and an improved try in the first half, Moortown were wary of some of Baildon's attacking play and the visitors thought they had cracked the home side with their hooker scoring just after the restart.
But it wasn't until the last quarter that the visitors fitness overcame a hard-working Baildon side and ran in four unconverted tries to win 35-3.
This was a much-improved Baildon side, and with even more players due back they may have turned the corner after this display.
