For the second week running Aireborough found themselves facing the disappointment of a single-point defeat, losing 14-13 at home to Doncaster Phoenix.
Aireborough had the best possible start, with fly half Nic Holdsworth stroking a penalty between the posts after three minutes.
A converted try by Doncaster was followed by more bad news for Aire, with winger Chris Blackshaw suffering a stomach injury and having to be replaced by James Kinghorn.
Another Holdsworth penalty made it 7-6 but history repeated itself and almost immediately Doncaster scored a second converted try.
The second half turned into a fairly sterile affair. Sadly, Aire lost their second player of the afternoon when second row Wray suffered a dislocated shoulder, coach Simon Carbutt emerging from retirement for the final quarter of the game.
A superb break by Aire centre Matt Williams, who held off three players, saw him feed winger Williams who in turn put full back Druce in for a try. Holdsworth added the two points but unfortunately it was too little too late.
