BRADFORD Grammar School pupil Ross Kirtland has been selected for an England under-17 training camp after impressing for the school's first XV.
The lower-sixth former has already represented Yorkshire under-16s and, with the help of coaching by staff Dan Scarbrough and Jamie Oakes, is hoping to emulate former pupil Jacob Rowan by playing for England under-18s next season.
Kirtland, along with school team-mate Will Bowie, featured for Yorkshire Carnegie's junior side earlier this season against Sale Sharks.
Kirtland will be looking to make an impact next season following the senior squad's pre-season training camp in Newcastle, which will culminate in a fixture on Newcastle Falcons' state-of-the-art 4G pitch at Kingston Park.
