FORMER Wharfedale hooker Ben Sowrey is one of five players to have signed new contracts for Greene King IPA Championship promotion contenders Worcester.
The 23-year-old, who has played for Doncaster Knights and Rotherham Titans as well as Leeds Carnegie Academy, left Wharfedale in the summer of 2012 and was handed his Warriors debut in October against Nottingham.
He was part of the Cavaliers side which reached the Aviva A League final earlier this month and has also impressed during first-team appearances.
Sowrey said: "I have immensely enjoyed the first part of my Warriors career. I feel I can carry on improving at Sixways and play a part in the progression of this club, so I am looking forward to the future here."
The others to sign are fly half Tiff Eden, lock Christian Scotland-Williamson and props Val Rapava Ruskin and Mike Daniels.
