BAILDON have climbed to ninth place in SSE Yorkshire Division Three on the back of this victory, overtaking Rotherham Phoenix.
With forwards Danny Pollard and Paul Dobson returning, a confident Baildon took a near full-strength team to Burley.
The hosts, however, showed that they would be no pushovers and contained Baildon's attacks, both from forwards and backs, after having first use of the slope.
Burley slotted a penalty but, on a day when several promising moves were thwarted by mishandling, Baildon levelled just before half-time via fly half Oli Waddington.
Baildon's pack always looked likely to break through with the slope at their backs but it was the backs who did in the 46th minute when scrum half Robbie Hill spun the ball wide and Waddington looped around Joe Moore to win a foot race to the corner.
Burley then had to show excellent defence to keep out Baildon's pack, and the visitors then had to show their grittiness as Burley found a second wind and almost broke through.
However, the only further points went to Baildon via a Waddington penalty.
