Keighley 13 Bridlington 19
Keighley threw this game away when victory would have seen them climb out of the relegation zone.
After a tentative start by both teams, the home pack began to dominate, forcing Brid to concede penalties, one of which Alex Brown converted.
The visitors made every effort to move the ball wide, away from the opposition’s strength. This brought a try for substitute back Reagan Stirk, which was converted by full back Teriwa.
Then a kick-and-chase led to a try for prop A Dixon before Keighley’s Olly Mit-chell landed a late penalty before the break.
The second half was fiercely contested. Even-tually the Keighley forwards gained the upper hand and some clever passing led to a try under the posts for centre Liam McGee, Brown converting.
With a one-point lead towards the end, it called for some steady play to wind the clock down.
But Keighley chose the wrong option and tried to force a pass in midfield which was easily intercepted by full back Teriwa, who raced away to score and added the conversion.
