Wibsey 19 Rotherham Clifton 18
Wibsey maintained their position of being the only team in Yorkshire without a bonus point – but, more importantly, they gave their best performance of the season.
With the backs boosted by the return of Bryn Worsley, who partnered Simeon Birkbeck in the centres, they defeated sixth-placed Rotherham Clifton in Yorkshire Five by a point at Beldon Lane.
Worsley got two tries and full back Scott Smith a brilliant third as Wibsey threatened a four-try bonus point but they ended up hanging on for victory after leading 19-6 down the slope.
Forward enforcer Alex Cerson was Wibsey’s man of the match.
