Morpeth 12, Cleckheaton 29
For the second week in succession, Cleckheaton took early control of their SSE North One East match with four tries inside the first half-hour.
A seventh-minute try from strong centre Matt Piper, followed closely by tries from his twin brother Richard and full back Ross Hayden, put the visitors in control.
Morpeth appeared to be shell-shocked, with their only response being an unsuccessful penalty attempt from full back Matty Jinks.
Matt Piper once more cut through for his second try, following a perfectly executed cross-kick from fly half Jonno Marshall, and with two conversions from Hayden the score at the break was 24-0.
Cleckheaton continued to look the stronger side, and winger Martin Woodhead romped over for his team's fifth try following good work by Hayden.
That completed the scoring for the visitors but Morpeth competed well and were rewarded for their efforts with two tries, one of which was converted by Jinks.
