Otley will be looking to extend their 100 per-cent National League Two North home record when they entertain newly-promoted Chester on Saturday.

With experienced scrum half Stephen Depledge still ruled out through injury, youngster Mark Cooke will continue in the key position.

Cooke, who came through the academy at Prince Henry’s Grammar School, spent last season on loan at Morley. The experience seems to have benefited him.

“He has come in and played well,” said director of rugby James Tiffany. “He has a good pass and he has plenty about him.

“Even when Stephen has been available he has started some games ahead of him.”

Centre Jack Mackie also continues to be sidelined with a groin injury.

“We will assess the other knocks and bruises we have before picking a team,” added Tiffany.

The Otley chief was disappointed by the result but not the performance after his side lost 44-23 at Sedgley Park last time out.

“When I reflected on the game afterwards there were areas of our play which pleased me,” he said.

“We are always looking to improve our performance from one week to the next and our defensive effort was superb.

“Our line speed, tackling and defensive organisation were really good so we have something to build on.

“Yes the result was disappointing for the lads, but a couple of unfortunate bounces of the ball meant the game got away from us.”
