Baildon were unlucky to gain just a losing bonus point in a 22-15 defeat at home to West Leeds.
Leading 15-14 with 12 minutes left through tries from No 8 Tom Craven and young prop Sam Thompson, the Jenny Laners conceded a late try and penalty.
However, having enjoyed dominance at the scrum for the first time this season and demonstrated more patience in possession, the improving home side took huge positives.
The only real disappointment was the dismissal of James Fox for striking after the second row reacted to an incident of serious foul play from a West Leeds flanker, who was also brandished the red card.
Although still bottom of the league, the Jenny Laners will go into next week's game against their former coach Dave Duxbury's West Park Leeds buoyed by a performance which was held together with great teamwork and spirit.
