Otley 59, Dudley Kingswinford 31
It was a day of celebrations at Cross Green as James Twomey scored four tries to overtake Mark Kirkby as Otley's top try-scorer and put himself on top for the division this season, while hooker Ben Steele made his 200th appearance for the club and scored two tries.
The home side also scored nine tries in a competitive, open SSE National League Two North match, Ben Cooper nailing some fine touchline conversions as they cemented fifth place.
Twomey's first try came on 44 seconds.
Otley won the ball from their kick-off and it was hurried down the line to the winger who, receiving a knee-high pass, volleyed it forward to chase, collect and go over.
Settling down, Dudley equalised when winger Duncan Chance was put over, fly half Jon Higgins converting, but Otley's forwards began to exert themselves, twice refusing penalty kicks at goal to go for touch, resulting in tries for Steele and, after conceding a converted try from centre Chris Perry, Twomey again for a 26-14 lead at half-time.
Dudley made a quick start after the break with a try from flanker Tom Bissell but Otley back-rower Luke Cole scored twice in three minutes and centre Jack Mackie presented Twomey with a touch-down.
After scrum half Connah Jones, hitting back, ran in from a tapped penalty, Twomey went in for his fourth.
Continuing to attack whenever possible, the visitors got winger Matt Farrington over but Otley’s mission was already accomplished.
