The Dave Duxbury era is almost over at Baildon but they want to cap his three-year stay with a memorable double.
They face Gloucestershire side Newent at Twickenham on Saturday, May 4 in the RFU Junior Vase final but ideally before that they want to clinch promotion from SSE Yorkshire Division Three.
Baildon need nine points from their last three matches and, without being presumptious, they want to start that process on Saturday at home to York RI.
“It would be nice to get five points against York, who are the basement club,” said Baildon’s chairman of rugby Andy Whitley.
“It is a disappointment that Dave is leaving but we knew it would happen at some stage and we want to mark his departure by retaining the Vase and winning promotion.
“Our other league games are at Hemsworth a week on Saturday and at home to Northallerton on May 11.
“We have 28 players who are capable of playing at Twickenham and, while most of them played there last year, quite a few of them didn’t, and we want to have a look this weekend at tight-head prop Connor Ward.”
