Baildon 34 Rotherham Phoenix 0
Baildon produced an outstanding second-half display to secure a bonus-point win which puts them back in the second automatic promotion spot.
The Jenny Laners opened the scoring through right wing Matt Robinson, who just managed to beat the covering defence to squeeze in at the right corner after ten minutes. Centre Jarrod Huss added the extras with a superb touchline conversion.
Huss was again on the mark with penalties on 13 and 40 minutes to put his side 13-0 up at the break.
The home side’s excellent second-half performance owed much to the skill and distribution of 18-year-old stand-off Oliver Waddington, who set up JJ O’Connell twice to cross on 53 and 62 minutes.
O’Connell completed his hat-trick on 67 minutes after a fine handling move. Huss completed the scoring, and a superb afternoon with the boot, with a great touchline conversion.
