Hunslet Warriors 24, Bradford Dudley Hill 18
Bradford Dudley Hill’s hopes of a Grand Final appearance were dashed after they were edged out at Hunslet in their National Conference League play-off semi-final.
Hill fell behind after just three minutes when centre Joel Henry crossed in the corner and Gary McClelland added the extras.
They fashioned an encouraging response but Hunslet extended their lead when loose forward Caldon Bravo crashed over the line.
Five minutes later the visitors responded when full back Aiden Batey, Hill’s stand-out player, collected a high ball which led to Nathan Lee going over for a try which hooker Nathan Kitson converted.
Winger Lee West struck again for the Warriors before the break and Mark Cunningham added a further score after the restart.
Hill hit back through two Martin Southwell tries but Hunslet held on to progress to Saturday’s interim season final against Wigan St Patrick’s at Stanningley.
