Leaders Bradford Clayton Thunderbirds produce their best display of the season to win 38-16 in a Women’s Rugby League revenge match at Featherstone Rovers.
The Thunderbirds scored first and the result then never looked in doubt as they outperformed their opponents in every aspect of the game.
Bradford were out to prove a point after losing their previous fixture against Featherstone in the final five minutes.
The opening try came from full back Sarah Ashton, with England hooker Lois Forrsell adding the next.
A length-of-the-field move was then finished off by Ashlea Prescott after Tara Yarrow had broken the line with a pass from Danielle Bose.
Tara Yarrow completed the first-half scoring after Featherstone had registered their first through Andrea Dobson. Lisa Taylor converted three of Bradford’s tries.
The second half saw both sides drawn into a forward battle, with Taylor sent to the sin-bin following an altercation with Dobson.
Bradford scored again when England scrum half Kirsty Moroney threw a dummy to open a gap and score under the sticks, adding the conversion herself in the absence of Taylor.
Jamie Dion then touched down in the corner in another move that started deep within her side’s own half, Moroney again converting.
With the game wrapped up, Bradford took their foot off the gas and Featherstone took advantage to score two tries through Gemma Walsh and another by Dobson, who added the conversions.
The Thunderbirds top the table with games against Wigan, Leigh, Hunslet and Copeland to come before the season concludes.
