Bradford Clayton Thunderbirds warmed up in style for Sunday's derby against Bradford Dudley Hill Diamonds at Parry Lane (2.00).
The Thunderbirds defeated a young Hunslet Hawks Ladies 78-6.
Both teams were a bit rusty in the opening exchanges but Thunderbirds’ nerves were settled when England scrum half Kirsty Moroney threw a dummy which split the line for her to go through from 60 yards out to open the scoring, Lisa Taylor converting.
From that point on, Bradford never took their foot off the gas and continued to use their experience over the Hawks, a lot of whom had stepped up from their junior section.
Further tries came from Lauren Stallwood (4), Amy Hardcastle (2), Moroney, Jen Waite, Taylor, Rachel Twibill, Katy Storie and Ashlea Prescott.
Conversions came from Taylor (6) and Moroney (3).
