Three pubs in Bradford are breaking new ground on Friday night by showing the Engage Super League’s first match in 3D – the top-of-the-table clash between Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves (8.00).
The venues are Cue Gardens at Odsal, the Park at Frizinghall and Oddfellows Hall at Idle.
It is also being shown at the Barge at Brighouse, the Royal at Denholme, Pilky’s Sports Club and Bar in Keighley, the Clothiers and Albert Inn at Yeadon, the Station at Guiseley, the Bridge Inn and Old Ball at Horsforth, the Wellington at Batley and the Old Unicorn at Bramley, as well as in Oakworth.
The match, which is being billed as ‘The Big One 2’, is already certain to draw the Warriors’ biggest crowd of the season to DW Stadium and RFL commercial director Paul Kimberley believes spectators and TV viewers are in for a real treat.
“The Big One 2 is the perfect game to launch Super League in 3D as the competition’s top two teams battle it out,” said Kimberley.
“The game should be a fantastic spectacle of rugby league, fitting for live 3D coverage. Fans will not want to miss out on this exciting experience so I urge anyone who can’t get a ticket for The Big One 2 to find their nearest 3D venue.”
Commenting on the latest 3D landmark, Sky Sports’ executive producer Neville Smith said: “We’ll be presenting rugby league in a way never seen before, using different camera angles and ways of capturing the atmosphere in the stadium to bring the game alive.”
The match is being shown at over 1,000 venues across the country.
