Stand-in full back Ryan Smith revelled in his new role to grab a hat-trick as Wibsey Warriors posted a 36-0 Pennine League whitewash at home to PREMIER DIVISION rivals Queensbury.
The Warriors led 12-0 at the interval in what was a competitive first stanza.
But when they rattled in two quick tries on the restart, Queensbury self-destructed despite the best efforts of half-back Gregg Marriott and player-coach Andy Senior.
The Wibsey three-quarters were in sparkling form and Carl Walker, Danny Conroy and Andy Robinson also crossed the try line, leaving the precise kicking of Robinson to add six out of a possible seven to wrap up the points tally.
DIVISION ONE leaders Bank Top Harriers completed the double over hosts Allerton Bywater by winning 42-18.
The old firm partnership of Mick Hustler and Jason Gelder caused most of the damage, with both crossing for two tries and other efforts following from Finn Lamont and Dan Oldfield.
Stand-off Adam Mitchell was the Harriers’ top scorer with a try and seven conversions.
Birkenshaw moved up to third spot following their 42-22 win at Lindley Swifts.
Birky looked to be in a spot of bother when they trailed by ten points early on but once they hit their stride it was plain sailing all the way.
Liam Darville (2), Ross Grattan, Damien Smith, Karl Robinson, Steve Wroe and Richard Rhodes all made the chalk, Matt Gowland kicking the extras.
But the best try of the game came from prop Trevor West, who sprinted the full length of the field to score.
West Bowling A will soon move off the bottom of DIVISION TWO if they maintain the form they displayed against Sharlston Rovers A at the Bankfoot Oval.
They eventually lost out 19-14 due to a try on the final whistle that flattered the fourth-placed visitors.
Bowling’s tries came from Jamie Cairns, Ryan Wilkinson and Jake Brook, with Joe Ollerenshaw adding one conversion.
Wyke’s good run ground to a halt with a 50-20 defeat at Selby Warriors, who are joint-top of the division.
The Black and Whites drew first blood when Adie Doherty crossed to touch down his maiden try for the club.
Further tries from Curtis Kent and Ash Hutchinson, together with three goals by wingman Ben Barron, saw them establish a 20-10 advantage.
But Selby then showed why they are pushing for the title by adding 40 points without reply. Undercliffe Wildboars gave Wyke A the runaround to record a 52-6 success at Towngate in DIVISION SIX.
Loose forward Kenny Smith was in top form to post a hat-trick, with Kaz Ahmed and Justin Hunter both crossing twice and Jake Butterworth and Paul Cross adding to the tally.
Wyke stand-off James Dewhirst prevented a blank day for the hosts.
